The possibility of Melania Trump appearing on the cover of Vanity Fair has reportedly sparked open rebellion inside the magazine. According to Daily Mail, newly appointed global editorial director Mark Guiducci is seriously considering the former First Lady for an upcoming glossy cover — a move that has enraged parts of the editorial staff.
“I’ll walk the hell out of the office, and half my team will walk out with me,” one editor told the outlet, stressing that staffers refuse to “normalize a regime of tyranny” or portray Donald Trump’s wife as an object of admiration. “If I have to work the register at Trader Joe’s, I will. But I won’t do this,” the source added.

Not all employees, however, are convinced that the outrage will actually translate into resignations. One staffer noted that while people will protest loudly, no one is likely to give up such a prestigious job: “Everyone will complain and protest, but no one’s quitting Vanity Fair over this.” Ultimately, the employee added, the final call rests with Guiducci — and so will the responsibility for the fallout.
It’s worth noting that during Donald Trump’s presidency, Melania never appeared on the cover of Vogue or Vanity Fair in the U.S. By contrast, Michelle Obama graced the cover of Vogue three times as First Lady.
Melania herself has downplayed the issue in interviews, telling Fox News: “I’ve already been on covers — Vogue, other magazines. Right now, we have bigger things to worry about.”
