British designer Maximilian Davis continues to steer Ferragamo to new heights in contemporary luxury. At just 29, Davis marks his third year as creative director, reshaping the iconic Italian house into a symbol of modern elegance.
For the Spring/Summer 2026 collection, Davis once again delved into Ferragamo’s archives, drawing inspiration from the brand’s roots and the exuberance of the Roaring Twenties. A single 1925 photograph of silent-screen actress Lola Todd sparked the designer’s imagination, setting the tone for a study of extravagance and excess.

“I was fascinated by how certain materials, prints, and textiles were imported from Africa and the Caribbean into America and Europe, becoming markers of status,” Davis explained.

His vision reimagines the Africana Jazz Age with archival precision and a contemporary edge, expressed through sharp tailoring and bold animal prints.

The collection opened with a parade of speakeasy-inspired suiting — sleek silhouettes punctuated by broad lapels and tonal scarves.

Leopard and zebra patterns prowled across airy dresses and sheer blouses, while striped formalwear looked ready to party.

Flapper-style fringe shimmered under the runway lights, contrasting with Harlem Renaissance-inspired zoot suits and leather neckties — a decadent homage to the golden age of dandyism.
