The super-private life of Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf: How the tennis power couple lives in Las Vegas after stepping away from the spotlight

14:32, October 31

Andre Agassi recently celebrated his wife Steffi Graf’s 24th wedding anniversary. But for a couple whose love story unfolded amid the pressures of the tennis world, that milestone could have easily felt like 33 years — such is the depth and uniqueness of their journey together.

Agassi first noticed Graf when he saw her interview on French television. She was at the pinnacle of her career, having completed the Golden Slam in 1988, while Agassi was striving to win his first major tournament. Their paths only crossed later in Graf’s career, eventually leading to their romance and marriage in 2001. The wedding was intimate and understated: only their mothers attended, the couple were barefoot in jeans, and the sounds of gardeners working in the background became a natural soundtrack to the ceremony. Just two days later, their son Jaden was born.

Since then, the family has deliberately kept a low profile. Agassi and Graf rarely attend tournaments, appearing mostly at charity events or occasional television projects.

Children Carving Their Own Paths

Having experienced the pressures of professional tennis from a young age, Agassi and Graf decided not to impose sports on their children. Their son Jaden, now 24, pursued baseball and currently plays for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, while their daughter Jaz, 22, has interests in fitness, dance, and pickleball, though she remains a fan of tennis.

“The Agassi name is strongly associated with tennis, but I want to make it about baseball,” Jaden said in 2024.

Jaz participates in her parents’ charitable and sports initiatives, helping maintain the family’s philanthropic legacy.

Life in Las Vegas

Agassi grew up in Las Vegas and chose to remain in Nevada, enjoying a relatively quiet life away from the constant glare of paparazzi. The family resides in the upscale Summerlin neighborhood, where neighbors include stars like Celine Dion and Carlos Santana.

Philanthropy First

Both Agassi and Graf remain deeply involved in charitable work. The Andre Agassi Foundation focuses on creating educational opportunities for children from underprivileged backgrounds, while Graf manages Children for Tomorrow, supporting kids affected by war and violence.

Pickleball and New Ventures

The couple has embraced pickleball, a rapidly growing sport, and actively invests in its development. They have launched their own line of equipment and participate in tournaments, including the Pickleball Slam, while Agassi also coaches teams at the Laver Cup.

Returning to the Tennis World

Although both rarely appear in competitive tennis, Agassi has returned to the sport in analytical and exhibition capacities. This year, he served as captain of Team World at the Laver Cup and provided commentary for TNT Sports at the French Open. Additionally, he is working on an Amazon MGM Studios series, Rally, about young tennis players.

For tennis fans, Agassi’s return to the court, even in a mentorship and commentary role, has been a long-awaited delight. The legend brings renewed energy and enthusiasm to the sport, showing that even after stepping back, his impact on tennis endures.
