As the world turns its eyes to Thailand for the 74th edition of the Miss Universe competition, Armenia’s representative, Peggy Garabekian, is already making her presence felt. Arriving in Thailand on November 2, Garabekian has been fully immersed in a whirlwind of activities leading up to the much-anticipated final on November 21.

“From the moment I landed, it’s been a high-impact experience — very fast-paced and filled with work and preparation,” Garabekian shared with NEWS.am STYLE. “Every day builds toward this moment, and the atmosphere is filled with excitement for what’s ahead.”

Though the preliminary interview, national costume, swimsuit, and evening gown segments are yet to take place, the Armenian contender is already representing her nation across numerous public appearances, sponsor events, and media engagements.

“At this stage, we’re focused on events, sponsor visits, public appearances, and media interviews as part of the lead-up to the competition,” she explained. “It’s a full schedule, and every day brings new opportunities to represent Armenia with pride.”

Between rehearsals, fashion shows, and photo calls, the schedule leaves little downtime. Yet Garabekian finds moments of calm amidst the chaos.

“Our days are filled with rehearsals, media events, red carpets, and fashion shows. Recently, we participated in Carnival Magic in Phuket, which was incredibly colorful and welcoming,” she said. “Even amidst the busy schedule, I always take a few quiet moments to pray, reflect, and remind myself of the greater purpose behind this experience.”

When it comes to her wardrobe for the competition, Garabekian is keeping the details close to her heart — for now. Her national costume, designed by Martun Gevorgyan, promises to be a distinctive interpretation of Armenian identity.

“It’s not the traditional taraz that people usually associate with Armenia,” she revealed. “Instead, it incorporates multiple layers of Armenian history, religion, architecture, symbols, and culture. Even the placement of each element carries its own meaning.”

She plans to share the deeper symbolism behind her costume after the competition’s preliminaries and final show.

For her preliminary and final evening gowns, Garabekian is collaborating with Karim Lakhani, designer and owner of Valencia Couture in Houston, Texas.

“I’m beyond grateful for his support and kindness throughout this journey,” she said. “He’s an exceptionally genuine and supportive individual, and I’m truly thankful for his help in making sure I have the perfect gowns for the stage.”

With her poise, purpose, and passion for representing Armenia on one of the world’s biggest stages, Peggy Garabekian stands ready to bring her country’s spirit and story to the Miss Universe spotlight.

The world will see her shine when the Miss Universe 2025 Final airs on November 21 — live from Thailand.
