Armenia will take part in the 61st Venice International Art Biennale with a presentation titled “Ode to Lord Byron” by contemporary artist Zadik Zadikian. The prestigious exhibition will be held from May 9 to November 22, 2026, under the theme “In Minor Keys.”, The Armenian Report writes.
The decision to select Zadikian’s project came after a national competition organized to determine the artist and curator for the Armenian Pavilion. On October 16, the jury reviewed seven submissions and voted in a closed session, ultimately choosing Zadikian’s proposal as the winner.
The Armenian Pavilion will be curated by Tony Shafrazi and Tina Shakarian. Shafrazi is a well-known figure in the international art world, recognized for his work as a curator and advisor to several major galleries. Shakarian has also established herself through her experience organizing and curating contemporary art exhibitions abroad.
Zadik Zadikian, an Armenian-born contemporary visual artist, is widely known for his bold and innovative style. His works have been featured in major galleries across the United States and Europe, earning him recognition for blending cultural heritage with modern artistic expression.
