Melania Trump is set to be the focus of a documentary reportedly secured in a record-breaking $40 million deal — the largest ever for a documentary project. Titled Melania, the film will premiere internationally on January 30, with special screenings planned in New York and potentially Washington, D.C, WWD reports.

The documentary shines a spotlight on the First Lady’s fashion and style. Viewers will see Melania wearing her iconic black-and-white gown designed by stylist Hervé Pierre for the 2025 inaugural balls. The film also includes behind-the-scenes footage of her official White House portrait shoot in the Yellow Oval Room with photographer Régine Mahaux. For the portrait, Melania chose a Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo with satin lapels, a white shirt, and a Ralph Lauren cummerbund.

Another featured outfit is a navy-and-white ensemble by Adam Lippes, worn during President Donald Trump’s second inauguration. Audiences will witness Melania preparing for the ceremony at Blair House, the official guest residence of the U.S. president, including her iconic Eric Javits hat that completed the look.

The film’s trailer shows Pierre sketching the inaugural gown in real time, describing the shoot as routine: “Mrs. Trump is always photographed and filmed, so for me it was business as usual.”

Sources report that Amazon and MGM outbid Disney, Netflix, and Paramount to secure the documentary. Melania Trump serves as an executive producer, alongside Brett Ratner of RatPac Entertainment and Fernando Sulichin of New Element Media.
