Marc Jacobs’ Spring 2026 collection isn’t just a fashion show—it’s a deeply personal reflection. The new line reflects Jacobs’ refined aesthetic while carrying a heartfelt tribute to his late friend, Louis.

“Memory. Loss. Memories surface to shape us, influence our actions, and inspire creativity,” Jacobs writes in his designer notes shared with WWD. “There is no nostalgia in them, only a reminder that loss is inevitable. Hope is labor. Memory, bitter and beautiful at once, gives meaning to our actions, fuels creation, and leaves a legacy.”

In a world shaken by political and social upheaval, the collection celebrates the joy found in everyday wardrobe staples—the little pleasures that make dressing meaningful. Known for his extravagant gowns, Jacobs here reveals a more restrained side, showcasing elegance, maturity, and subtle sophistication.

Uniquely, Jacobs includes a “credits and receipts” section in his notes, openly acknowledging his inspirations—from Yves Saint Laurent 1965 and Perry Ellis 1993, to Helmut Lang 1990s and his own archives, Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs. This rare transparency adds depth and intrigue to his work.
The collection features:
Minimalist V-neck sweaters
Plaid and tweed skirts
Tailored straight skirts with low waists, subtly structured to highlight new silhouette proportions

90s influences are unmistakable: mini dresses reminiscent of Helmut Lang, skirt suits from Jacobs’ own archives, hair scrunchies, X-Girl style skirts, shiny tube tops, ruffles, sheer skirts, and coat-dresses worn backwards.

Each look carefully balances the bittersweet weight of loss with a luminous thread of hope, encapsulating Jacobs’ personal message while celebrating the quiet joys of dressing.
