Legendary designer John Galliano has announced a two-year collaboration with Spanish fast-fashion giant Zara. As part of the partnership, Galliano will craft special seasonal collections, reimagining pieces from previous seasons and transforming them into fresh, fashion-forward looks.

For Galliano, this marks an unusual move: after leaving Maison Margiela, where he spent ten years, the designer is no longer leading an elite fashion house and is now engaging directly with a mass audience. Known for his dramatic flair, theatrical designs, and daring creativity, experts predict that the collaboration will bring a bold, fresh edge to Zara’s offerings.

“Galliano will work with past-season Zara pieces, deconstructing and recomposing them into new seasonal styles,” the company said. This approach aims to create collections that are both accessible and visually striking, setting Zara apart from other mass-market brands.

The first John Galliano x Zara collection is scheduled to hit stores in September 2026.
