Dolce & Gabbana strengthens leadership team as former Gucci CEO takes co-chief role

15:37, April 14

Dolce & Gabbana is entering a new phase of corporate transformation, with Business of Fashion reporting the appointment of Stefano Cantino as co-CEO. The move is part of a broader leadership reshuffle aimed at accelerating the Italian luxury house’s evolution from a traditional fashion label into a global lifestyle brand.

Under the new structure, Cantino will work alongside Alfonso Dolce, who has recently expanded his responsibilities to include the role of chairman. The changes follow the departure of co-founder Stefano Gabbana from the chairman position in December last year.

Cantino brings extensive experience in the luxury sector. Prior to joining Dolce & Gabbana, he served as CEO of Gucci, leaving the role in September 2025. His career also includes a senior vice president position in communications at Louis Vuitton, as well as a 22-year tenure at Prada, where he held roles spanning business development, marketing, merchandising, and retail strategy.

The restructuring reflects the company’s ambition to strengthen its commercial footprint in an increasingly competitive global luxury market. However, Dolce & Gabbana has confirmed that its creative direction remains unchanged: founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana will continue to lead the brand’s artistic vision and preserve its distinctive aesthetic identity.
