“I Carry the Resilience of a People Who Refused to Be Silenced”: Krikor Jabotian Marks the 111th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

13:27, April 24

On April 24, the day of remembrance for the victims of the Armenian Genocide, Armenian-Lebanese designer Krikor Jabotian shared a personal message on Instagram, blending historical memory with present-day reality.

“On this day, April 24, we commemorate the 111th remembrance of the Armenian Genocide,” Jabotian wrote.

“As a descendant of survivors from the village of Sis, I carry the resilience of a people who refused to be silenced. Today, as I stand on this sacred ground, the weight of history feels more present than ever.

The injustice we honor here is not just a memory; it is a mirror to the oppression currently unfolding in our region. From the soil of Armenia to the heart of Lebanon and the suffering in Palestine, the struggle for existence remains the same. Our collective endurance is our greatest testimony.

Today, my prayers are for justice – for the ancestors we lost, and for the brothers and sisters whose voices are being tested today. We are a people of chapters, and we will continue to rise.”
