Armenian singer Iveta Mukuchyan defeated fellow Armenian and Iranian singers in the next round of «The Voice of Germany» song contest.
Fellow compatriot Mari Harutyunyan from Nürnberg and Iranian singer Omid Mirzaei were competing with Mukuchyan at this phase of the competition, Hamburger Abendblatt of Germany reports.
Following the “blind” hearings, when the singers themselves select their own producers, the contestants went on to the next round: the vocal battle. Next, the producers will choose the singers.
Iveta Mukuchyan and Omid Mirzaei performed «Many Rivers to Cross» and, in the end, producer Xavier Naidoo chose Iveta.
«It’s very bad that only one can win,» said 26-year-old Iveta, who now lives in Hamburg and who came in fifth at Armenia’s «Hay Superstar» in 2010 and took part in the 2011 Armenian Music Awards.
