The fifth episode of Euphoria’s third season left audiences stunned with its explicit content, with many fans calling it “disturbing,” “cringe,” and “a step too far.”

The new HBO episode, titled “This Little Piggy,” opens with Cassie, played by Sydney Sweeney, continuing to create increasingly provocative fetish content for her OnlyFans page. In one of the earliest scenes, she films herself sucking her own toe, while later she fully exposes her chest for a client.

Her manager, Maddy Perez, portrayed by Alexa Demie, helps coordinate the shoots, directing Cassie and pushing for even more explicit material. In one scene, Cassie records an ASMR video in lingerie, seductively whispering into a microphone, “Hi, it’s your favorite dream girl,” before using the microphone in an overtly intimate way.

Throughout the episode, Cassie fulfills a variety of subscriber requests, sells worn lingerie, performs sexual roleplay scenarios, records humiliating personalized videos for clients, and steadily rises in popularity on the platform.

Particular attention was drawn to sequences in which Cassie adopts different personas — from a seductive police officer to provocative fetish characters — as well as a surreal scene inspired by Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, where a giant version of her character interacts with a fan through a skyscraper window.

Following the episode’s release, social media erupted with criticism.

“Why am I watching Cassie suck her own toes? Euphoria, what the hell?” one viewer wrote.

“This is basically some kind of humiliation ritual for Sydney Sweeney,” another commented.

“Sydney Sweeney seriously needs to learn how to say no. Or her manager. Or her parents. Somebody,” added another user.

Some viewers directly accused creator Sam Levinson of excessively exploiting the actress and fetishizing her character.

“Is this just Sam Levinson’s giant humiliation fetish?” one commenter questioned.

“Why did Sydney even agree to this for the new season? Dumbest scene of the season,” another wrote.

Many fans also expressed frustration that season three appears increasingly centered around Cassie and her OnlyFans storyline.

“We’ve had enough of Cassie. This isn’t Euphoria anymore — it’s Cassie-forya. What are we even watching?” one user posted.

Others criticized the show’s visual presentation, arguing that rather than simply exploring the darker realities of the industry, the series itself seems to veer into fetishized territory.

“You can portray these themes without making it look sexually stimulating. But the camera angles, close-ups, and presentation make it feel exactly like that,” one viewer noted.
