Beauty influencer Emma Kate Willman, who originally rose to fame for her braid-weaving tutorials, has found herself in the spotlight of soccer fans worldwide.
Since the kickoff of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, her social media accounts have been flooded by thousands of commenters claiming she looks identical to Norway's star striker, Erling Haaland.

Users have jokingly dubbed the 24-year-old Emma as the "long-lost twin sister" of the 25-year-old forward, while some go as far as messaging her as if she were Haaland himself.
"Great game today, bro!" reads one comment under a hair tutorial. Another fan chimed in: "Your run before that second goal was insane. Good luck against England!"
The resemblance is undeniably heightened by the fact that Haaland, just like Emma, frequently pulls his blonde hair back into ponytails or braids during matches.
Initially, Emma Kate expressed slight confusion. On July 5, she posted a video playfully poking fun at the situation: "With all due respect to Haaland, I am literally just a small girl from Charleston," she joked.
However, the creator soon decided to lean into the trend. Embracing the internet's inside joke, she began recreating the soccer star's signature hairstyles. In one clip, she mirrored his double braids, and on July 8, she styled the famous "Haaland bun."
The move was a massive hit not just with fans, but with the athlete himself. Erling Haaland recently dropped by Emma's page (where she commands over 146,000 followers on Instagram and 414,000 on TikTok) and left a simple, one-word comment under her most popular video: "Hi." The striker's response instantly went viral, racking up over 2 million likes.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Emma admitted that the whole experience feels like a dream.
"I never thought that simply braiding hair would lead to millions of people comparing me to Erling Haaland. It’s been so fun watching the internet have a blast with it. But when Erling himself commented on my video—that made it completely surreal," the influencer shared. "I’m just grateful to everyone for keeping the energy so positive."
The story might just get a real-life sequel. This upcoming weekend, Emma Kate will be cheering on her "doppelgänger" from the stands in Miami, where Norway is set to face off against England.
"It would be so funny if, after all of this, our paths actually cross in person," she added with a smile.
