A Funeral with a Spark: Semi-Nude Dancer Performs Pole Routine Directly Between Coffins in Amsterdam

15:38, July 11

A wild video from the Netherlands has gone viral, showcasing a semi-nude dancer delivering a high-energy erotic performance right in the middle of a funeral service. The woman performed a routine on a stripper pole to Queen’s iconic anthem The Show Must Go On. Within just a few days, the footage—captured in Amsterdam—racked up over five million views, according to the New York Post.

The erotic performance unfolded on stage directly behind two closed coffins and portraits of the deceased couple, who in life had owned a strip club in the city's famous Red Light District. The scantily clad blonde spun on the pole and performed upside-down tricks to the rock track, leaving those mourners who were unaware of the script in a state of mild shock.

As it turned out, the patriarch of the establishment had actually passed away back in 1993, but the family decided to hold a joint farewell service only recently, following the passing of his wife.

The Children’s Last Wish

Lede Hoorn, the funeral home director, admitted that while he always strives to make services "unforgettable," even he was caught off guard by such a provocative request from the couple’s children.

"When I gently asked if we should reflect their parents' life's work in the ceremony, they hesitated at first," the funeral director recounted. "But a couple of days later, they called me back and said, 'We've decided to hire a pole dancer.'"

The actual incident took place last year, but the video only went viral this week after the funeral director posted it online. Hoorn added that everything ultimately turned out "fantastically," even if it caught the attendees by surprise.

"The guests were surprised, but on the other hand, it didn't feel entirely out of place to them. Everyone in the room knew the couple's history perfectly well. This show 100% reflected the lives of the people we were saying goodbye to. I don't think anyone will ever top this in my line of work."

"I Want This Too!": Internet Reaction

Social media users were absolutely thrilled by the footage. The comment sections were instantly flooded with jokes referencing Freddie Mercury's discography, and many users even began demanding that their friends orchestrate equally extravagant send-offs for them.

  • "The show really must go on!" one commentator joked.

  • "If you can't throw me a funeral like this, don't even bother burying me," another snapped.

  • "My friends, if you are reading this, know that this is my last will and testament," a third follower summarized beneath the viral clip.
