Priyanka Chopra has shared a surprising story about the early days of her relationship with Nick Jonas, revealing that before their romance took off, the singer wanted proof he was actually texting her.

Speaking on the Hey Jonas podcast, hosted by Nick and his brothers Kevin and Joe Jonas, Chopra recalled their very first text exchange.

"He wanted to make sure it was really me. So he asked me to send him a photo of myself looking into the camera with a timestamp. I remember thinking, 'This is getting a little suspicious.' But at the same time, I actually liked it," she said.

Nick initially joked that the photo showed Priyanka holding a jar of peanut butter, but she quickly corrected him.

"No. It was after a fashion show. I looked really good that day," Chopra laughed.

The unusual verification apparently did the trick. The pair continued texting and began dating about a year and a half later.

Their love story began after Nick spotted Chopra on a billboard promoting the TV series Quantico and decided to send her a direct message.

"Hi. I've had a few people tell me we should meet, and I agree with them. Are you going to be in Los Angeles anytime soon?" he wrote.

Priyanka replied by suggesting they continue the conversation over text, explaining that her social media accounts were managed by her team.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra married in December 2018. The couple welcomed their daughter, Malti, in January 2022.
