Among the hundreds of global celebrities who attended the 2026 FIFA World Cup, few drew as much attention as Mia Khalifa.
The former adult film actress turned influencer (whose real name is Sarah Joe Chamoun) has never hidden her passion for sports. Throughout the entire tournament, she passionately backed the Spanish national team, which capped off the World Cup in triumphant fashion on Sunday by defeating Argentina in the final.

As it turned out, her loyalty to the Spaniards was backed by a massive financial wager. Khalifa posted a screenshot of her bet: she risked $1 million on Spain to win and walked away with a net profit of $650,000 after the final whistle (bringing her total payout to $1.65 million).
The 33-year-old star quickly flexed her success on social media, sharing a recap of highlight moments from the tournament along with her winning slip.
“Believed until the end and took home the big bag! Beyond proud of my ‘native’ Spain (even though I don't have a single drop of Spanish blood in me)!” she wrote.
Khalifa was a prominent figure throughout the entire World Cup, drawing public attention ever since the USA's opening match against Paraguay. However, the final matchup was a match made in heaven for her, as she was not only rooting for Spain, but also actively praying on Argentina’s downfall.

“I’m rooting against Argentina purely out of a genuine love for hating,” Mia quipped in a recent interview.
Her strategy of "hate-watching" paid off in full. Khalifa showed up to the final wearing a Barcelona jersey with the name of Spain's teenage phenom Lamine Yamal printed on the back, leaving the stadium with a hefty check to celebrate the success of her newly adopted “homeland.”
