29-year-old Prince Abdullah bin Fahad bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Jiluwi Al Saud was found dead on November 25 of last year in a room at the Marriott Hotel in Kensington, West London. His body was discovered on the bathroom floor by a housekeeper. Arriving paramedics could only declare him dead at the scene, the Daily Mail reports.

Toxic Cocktail and Forensic Findings

A toxicology report revealed that the prince had ingested a lethal combination of substances prior to his death:

• Alcohol: His blood alcohol level was 222 mg per 100 ml—nearly three times the UK legal driving limit (80 mg). Experts noted that this concentration alone could induce a coma.

• Drugs: A potentially fatal dose of the club drug GHB was detected in his system, along with traces of cannabis, recreational doses of Xanax (alprazolam), and other anti-anxiety medications.

The combination of these substances induced cardiac arrest.

Attempts to Overcome Addiction

As revealed in court, the prince had long struggled with addiction to alcohol and sedatives.

A few months before the tragedy, in August, he underwent a detox program at the prestigious Priory rehab clinic in London, where treatment costs up to £35,000 per week. According to doctors, the prince successfully completed the program, was friendly, engaged with other patients, and showed no signs of suicidal intent.

He subsequently continued his recovery at the Rainford Hall private clinic in Merseyside (£7,000 per week), from which he was discharged on October 14.

Court Verdict: Tragic Accident

Assistant Coroner Jean Harkin officially ruled the death an accident.

CCTV footage confirmed that on the evening prior, the prince went out alone for a smoke before returning to his room, and no one else entered afterward. No suicide notes were found, and doctors from both clinics confirmed he exhibited no suicidal tendencies.
