The star of the black-and-white campaign shot by photographer Chris Lens is bodybuilder Tatiana Horslaville. Her toned, sculpted physique contrasts with—and simultaneously mirrors—the architectural lines of the new Aurora bag, WWD reports.

The imagery draws inspiration from Robert Mapplethorpe’s iconic 1980s portraits of Lisa Lyon, 19th-century academic sculptural studies, and the "glamazon" aesthetic pioneered by the house’s late founder, Manfred Thierry Mugler.

"Using female bodybuilding as a central theme challenges traditional notions of femininity, elevating sculpted power into an expression of refined elegance," brand representatives stated.

Personal Story and Celebrity Admirers

Miguel Castro Freitas, who took the helm at Mugler and has already made waves with daring designs (such as a dress featuring chest piercings worn by singer Chappell Roan at the Grammys), first debuted the Aurora bag and its companion, the Lua, last October.

They have already won over fans including Dua Lipa, Naomi Watts, and Natasha Lyonne.

The Aurora bag is named in honor of the designer’s mother and inspired by an archival 2002 model famously photographed by Helmut Newton.

Mugler maintains its strict policy against real fur and exotic skins; all items are crafted in Italy using premium alternative materials:

• The Aurora Model: Features an elongated, structured shape. Available in black and taupe, as well as python-embossed leather. Priced from $1,900 to $2,000.

• The Lua Model: Designed in a crescent-moon silhouette (named after the Portuguese word for "moon"). The standard version in black or eco-python embossing sells for $2,200 – $2,300, while the larger urban version, the Lua City, is priced at $3,200.
