A Minnesota woman has unexpectedly become a social media sensation after her mugshot, taken following her arrest for alleged theft, went viral online. The reason? Her astonishing resemblance to pop star and actress Jennifer Lopez.

Thirty-five-year-old Cyrena Anne Quast was arrested on August 30 and accused of stealing two double packs of power-tool batteries worth approximately $580 from a store in Monticello, according to The Watch MN, citing the criminal complaint.

Quast reportedly admitted to stealing the batteries and was taken into custody on a felony theft charge.

But it was not the alleged theft that made the woman famous online.

Social media users were captivated by her mugshot, taken by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office. In the photo, Quast looks so remarkably similar to 57-year-old Jennifer Lopez that many initially thought the star herself was pictured.

“For a second I thought this was J.Lo,” one user joked.

“Glitch in the Matrix,” another wrote.

Someone else addressed Lopez directly: “JENNIFER, IF YOU DON’T COME AND GET YOUR SISTER RIGHT NOW AND GET A DNA TEST — WE WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU! DO IT FOR US. THAT’S YOUR SISTER, GIRL!”

According to the Daily Mail, Quast was released the day after her August 30 arrest.

However, public records indicate that this is far from her first run-in with the law. She has previously been arrested on a range of charges, including drug possession, driving under the influence, attempting to flee from police and providing false information. Her record also includes several traffic violations.
