Lauren Sánchez has reportedly become seriously interested in the role of first lady of the United States and is already imagining her husband, Jeff Bezos, in the Oval Office. According to sources, the 56-year-old Sánchez became captivated by the idea of a “President Bezos” after visiting the White House and would now like to see the billionaire eventually take the country’s highest office.

According to a source cited by Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice column, Sánchez wants Bezos to “run for president” after Donald Trump. If that were to happen, she could, in her own vision, become the first lady of the United States.

Her interest in politics reportedly intensified after a visit to the White House during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s trip to Washington. According to an insider, Sánchez was so impressed by the atmosphere in the nation’s capital that she may have started encouraging her husband to consider a political career, Reality Tea reports.

“She loves the idea of President Bezos. She talks about legacy, influence and what Jeff could accomplish that money alone can’t buy. And yes, she can absolutely picture herself as first lady,” the source said.

According to the insider, Sánchez has also played an important role in transforming Bezos from a billionaire who largely stayed out of the public eye into a highly visible public figure. She reportedly believes her husband is capable of achieving much more and has already become “one of the most powerful people on the planet” after conquering the business world.

“She is always asking herself: What’s next? In her mind, the presidency is the ultimate final act,” another source claimed.

Bezos himself, however, has not indicated that he plans to trade the business world for politics. Still, according to insiders, he listens closely to Sánchez’s advice.

The source also claims that the former journalist has helped her husband step outside his usual comfort zone and that she herself has never been one to think small.
