Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner Finally Join Miami’s Most Exclusive Club — Jeff Bezos Is Still Waiting His Turn

10:55, October 6

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have finally secured a place among the select members of the ultra-exclusive Indian Creek Country Club in Florida. Meanwhile, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez, who also own property on the famed island known as “Billionaire Bunker,” are still waiting to gain membership.

A Page Six source said members of the club will soon receive official notice: “The Kushners have indeed made it.”

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner purchased a plot of land on the private island in 2020 for more than $30 million and later expanded their holdings. However, simply living on Billionaire Bunker does not guarantee membership in the prestigious golf club located there.

At first, the couple did not appear to be welcomed with open arms — partly because of some club members’ feelings toward Ivanka’s father, U.S. President Donald Trump. Back in January 2021, a Page Six source said that just one objection was enough to block a prospective new member, and following the events of January 6, several people reportedly opposed Ivanka and Jared joining the club.

But the couple did not give up. In recent years, they have made a concerted effort to get to know their neighbors and gradually win over the local community. As The Wall Street Journal reported in August, Jared Kushner joined the governing board of Indian Creek Village, while the couple began regularly attending events hosted by club members. Ivanka was also invited to play golf on the club’s course.

“The social winds are shifting,” the newspaper reported, noting that Ivanka and Jared were getting increasingly close to securing membership.

Indian Creek Country Club is known for its notoriously slow admission process, which can take several years. Even people with virtually unlimited financial resources may have to wait.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are currently facing precisely that situation. The couple owns three properties on the island with a combined value of around $234 million. Bezos first purchased property on Billionaire Bunker in 2023, but he and Sánchez have yet to become club members.

A Page Six source previously claimed that Bezos and Sánchez still have a good chance of getting the coveted invitation — they simply need to be patient and become actively involved in the local community.

“No one is going to give him special treatment just because he’s Jeff Bezos. You have to go to meetings and socialize. You can’t just move here and expect to be accepted immediately. That applies to everyone,” the insider said.

And Bezos is far from the only billionaire who has yet to gain entry into this exclusive world. Mark Zuckerberg, who purchased a $170 million property on the island in March, is also reportedly not a club member yet. Some members of the Qatari royal family who live nearby are also still without access.

Indian Creek itself is known as “Billionaire Bunker.” The island has just around 41 residential properties, and its current and former residents have included billionaire Carl Icahn, businessman Norman Braman, former Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula, Hotels.com co-founder Robert Diener, supermodel Adriana Lima, hedge fund manager Eddie Lampert and billionaire Jeff Soffer.
