A social drama involving former friends, an NFL star and several high-profile romances appears to be unfolding in the world of supermodels. According to Us Weekly, Candice Swanepoel has been dating Tom Brady for some time. Almost simultaneously, reports about the alleged romance sparked speculation about a possible rift in the model’s longtime friendship with Joan Smalls, as well as growing distance between Irina Shayk and her former friend. However, it remains unclear whether the football star is actually behind the alleged fallout.

Us Weekly first reported the possible relationship between 38-year-old Candice Swanepoel and 49-year-old Tom Brady, citing a source close to the pair. According to the insider, they have been seeing each other for “some time”. People later reported that the romance had been going on for several months, adding that the couple prefer to keep a low profile and are careful to keep their meetings private.

Both live in Miami, which, according to a People source, makes it easier for them to see each other more often. Neither Swanepoel nor Brady has publicly confirmed the relationship.

Since his divorce from Gisele Bündchen was finalised in 2022, Brady has repeatedly been linked to high-profile women. He was previously rumoured to be dating Irina Shayk, followed by speculation about other famous women. Now, one of Victoria’s Secret’s most recognisable models has found herself in the spotlight.

Alongside the reports about Brady’s romance, fans began noticing signs of a possible falling-out between Candice Swanepoel and Joan Smalls, who had been friends for around 15 years. Both models took part in the recent Victoria’s Secret fashion show, but, as social media users pointed out, neither shared any photos of them together. Speculation intensified after reports emerged that they had unfollowed each other on social media.

Smalls herself added fuel to the discussion. In the comments under a post about the alleged feud, she wrote: “Two words: SUMMER HOUSE!” The remark appeared to reference the American reality TV show, where friendships become complicated by romantic entanglements and unspoken rules of loyalty.

Earlier, statements about “traitors” and breaking the “girl code” also appeared on an account attributed to Smalls. However, the posts do not reveal the full story behind the alleged conflict, and the model has not publicly explained what happened.

Irina Shayk has also been drawn into the story by entertainment media. In 2023, the Russian model was romantically linked to Brady. Now, some reports claim that she has sided with Joan Smalls in her alleged dispute with Candice. However, there is no reliable confirmation that Shayk has taken either woman’s side or ended her friendship with Swanepoel specifically because of Brady.

The love-triangle theory emerged in media reports and accounts attributed to anonymous sources. According to this version of events, Smalls had allegedly been dating Brady herself, while Swanepoel initially discouraged her friend from pursuing the romance out of consideration for Gisele Bündchen’s feelings, only to start dating the football star herself later. None of the women involved has confirmed this sequence of events.

For now, the only confirmed development is that Brady and Swanepoel’s alleged relationship has become the subject of media reports, while questions have emerged about the state of the friendship between the two models. Whether a man is behind the alleged rift or there is another story at play remains unknown.
