Colin Farrell’s Son James, 23, Makes Rare Appearance in Trailer for New Documentary

22:09, October 31

Colin Farrell is bringing audiences into his private family life, PEOPLE writes.

In a newly released trailer for his new documentary The Slightest Touch, ThePenguin star, 50, enjoys an on-screen moment with his son James, 23, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Kim Bordenave.

The heartfelt film follows Farrell and his longtime friend, disability rights advocate Emma Fogarty, as they train for and complete the Dublin Marathon.

“I’ve never had a camera crew come near my home,” Farrell says, giving his son a big hug. “He gets away with nothing!”

In October 2007, the actor opened up about his son James’ neuro-genetic disorder, revealing that he had been diagnosed with Angelman syndrome.

“He’s nothing but a gift. He’s, as far as I’m concerned, exactly the way he should be,” The Banshees of Inisherin star told Irish talk show host Ryan Tubridy in February 2008.

In 2024, Farrell launched the Colin Farrell Foundation in honor of James. The nonprofit provides support for adult children who have intellectual disabilities through advocacy, education and innovative programs.
