Kim Kardashian has come under fire after posting a message on X that some users interpreted as celebrating the Democrats’ victory in the U.S. midterm elections. The backlash quickly turned to the reality star’s long-standing friendship with Ivanka Trump, daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Following Tuesday’s elections, Democrats gained an advantage in both chambers of Congress — the House of Representatives and the Senate. The next morning, Kardashian posted a brief message: “GOOD MORNING, AMERICA!”

In fact, the 46-year-old star had appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America to promote the new season of her series All’s Fair. However, the lack of context led some users to speculate that she was congratulating Democrats on their political success.

The reaction was swift, with social media users reminding Kardashian of her friendship with Ivanka Trump.
