By Shushan Shatikyan YEREVAN. – Sona Rubenyan will represent Armenia at the New Wave 2014 song contest.
Rubenyan just returned to capital city Yerevan from Moscow, where the semifinal for the event was held, and she spoke with NEWS.am STYLE about her impressions from the semifinal and her future plans. The young Armenian singer informed that she performed for two days. In her words, even though she had not traveled to the Russian capital city just for the sake of participation, she was ready for any result.

“Since it is a competition. Besides, the other participants were strong, too. At any rate, I had gone for a good performance, and I believe it worked out. While singing, I just thought about singing well, performing well,” Rubenyan said.
But she could not describe the emotions she experienced when it was announced that she had made it to the final of the song contest. “I didn’t believe [it]. When they invited the finalists on stage, I didn’t even see who advanced [to the final] with me,” Rubenyan noted.
Armenia’s contestant at New Wave 2014 has two weeks to submit the songs she will perform in the final. “I will start working on the songs and the program as of today. Many people are helping me. We will try to see to it that our program will be the best,” Sona Rubenyan concluded.
The New Wave 2014 song contest will be held from July 22 to 27 in Jūrmala, Latvia.
