Varda (Vardanush Martirosyan) a Ukrainian dancer and singer of the Armenian descent cannot leave anyone indifferent. In an interview with NEWS.am STYLE ,Varda told about her attitude to pole dance, sex and “Armenian complex”…
You have been working in striptease for a long time. Some people condemn it. Do you find their opinion important?
I am an honest dancer or strip dancer, as you like it. I think it is worse when people are hiding behind “decent professions” but in fact they are different. I am just dancing, that’s it.
What do you feel while dancing? Do you consider it art or simply your job?
I am happy to dance. I love my job and I also get money for it.
How do you manage to look so sexy? Can you give some advice to those who want to look sexier and more emancipated but cannot overcome “Armenian complex”?
I think the woman must exude sexuality (do not mix with vulgarity). My advice is they must take dance lessons. Men are drawing parallels between the way the woman is dancing and how she acts in bed.
Could you go naked on public? If no, what is the obstacle?
No, there is something only for the one. Let’s call it “Armenian complex.”
What does your family think about your job?
It is my way and my decision. Now they are proud of me and support me. My job does not reflect my personal qualities.
Tell about your impression about Armenia. Does Armenian audience differ from others?
I have positive impression. I was a little worried when I came in Armenia for the first time. But I got a warm reception. I look forward to coming again.
In one of the interviews you said you are dreaming about Oscar. Have you received any offers?
I have not received good offers yet. I think my Oscar-winning role is still ahead.
What is your favorite image? Can you show a photo?
I like to try different things but you should always be yourself. A photo... Here it is. Here I am real, just as I am.
And really... This image differs from Varda's other looks...
