Armenian singer KeyOh, who is mostly known in Belgium, has recently released her new cover on the famous song Havana by Camila Cabello. KeyOh gave her own interpretation to the song dedicating it to Yerevan:)
In her interview with NEWS.am STYLE the singer spoke about her song choice and the main message she wanted to pass.
“Havana is such a big international hit and personally one of my most loved songs of 2018. But somehow I didn’t feel connected with the fact that I had to sing “half of my heart is in Havana” as I am not from Havana and also have never been there.
One day I was in the car and started singing “Yerevan oh nana”... It sounded so natural and so much more close to my heart that my idea of recording the “Yerevan” version was immediately born”.
KeyOh doesn’t know whether Camila has listened to her cover version of the song, but she hopes she would love it.
“The song was recorded on the Easter weekend and was released on YouTube just days before. So, I don’t think she has noticed it. Still I think she must be very pleased to know that we gave such cordial respond to her song. In any case, I love her as an artist and I am a fan of the original version “Havana””.
The singer thinks the cover will also be a good message for the foreigners and invitation to visit Yerevan.
“When I was recording the song I was thinking ...Maybe this can be a good promotion for my country as well for the tourism. For as much as I can or I’m able to promote Armenia I always do and always will. With my little message on Facebook I was trying to connect with my audience to give them the message and discover our magical county and beautiful city Yerevan.

I plan every summer to come to Armenia, and I always try to be there. Sometimes my work and hectic lifestyle is not allowing me to do what my heart desires but I’ll do my extremely best this year to visit Armenia with my husband Jason”.
As for the favorite places in Yerevan, she revealed which place she misses especially.
“My very favorite place is where I grew up. I am raised in Charbax. I miss the days I was playing outside with my neighbors/best friends. I miss them very much, they are part of my history and my personality.
The main reason I always visit Armenia is to see my family and friends but also to finally feel home for few days. I feel very peaceful in my soul when I’m in Armenia”.
