American singer Britney Spears has been admitted into a mental hospital for a monthly course of treatment, TMZ portal reported referring to its sources. 

"Our sources say Britney checked herself into the facility about a week ago where she will live for 30 days,” TMZ noted.

The singer’s mental health problems began amid her father’s illness, Jamie Spears.

He has undergone two surgeries on the intestine and colon. After the second surgery which was conducted recently, the man had complications.

Britney Spears has been under the supervision of doctors since 2008.
