American actress Kristen Stewart, best known for starring in the Twilight movie saga, will play Princess Diana in 'Spencer', Deadline reported. 

"The Steven Knight-scripted film covers a critical weekend in the early ‘90s, when Diana decided her marriage to Prince Charles wasn’t working, and that she needed to veer from a path that put her in line to one day be queen," it is noted.

The production of the film will reportedly kick off in early 2021.

Princess Diana and Prince Charles divorced in 1996. On August 31, 1997, Diana died in a car accident in Paris. After a car accident, Diana was taken to the hospital, where she died a few hours later.
