TriStar Pictures has won the battle of several companies to make a film about Whitney Houston.

The singer died in 2012 at the age of 48 as a result of a drug overdose. And the biographical film, entitled I Wanna Dance With Somebody, will be released on the 10th anniversary of that tragic day.

The screenwriter is Anthony McCarten, the screenwriter for Bohemian Rhapsody about Freddie Mercury, as well as for the documentaries on Stephen Hawking and Winston Churchill. He has been nominated for an Oscar four times.

Previously unknown songs of Whitney Houston will also be played in this biographical film.

Now the main task is to choose the leading actress.
