Buckingham Palace said they would study the statement of Meghan Markle that some members of the royal family were worried about the skin color of her child, AP reported.
The document states that the entire royal family is saddened by how difficult the past few years have been for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” the palace said. “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.”
On March 7, the American television channel CBS aired a two-hour interview of Meghan Markle with Prince Harry, which they gave to Oprah Winfrey. More than 17.1 million people watched the program, according to The New York Times.
During the talks, Markle admitted that she had suicidal thoughts, and hinted that she was faced with racism in her husband's family. According to her, the members of the royal family were worried about how dark the skin of the child would be.
