Britney Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, has agreed to step down from his daughter’s conservatorship, Variety reported, citing respective court documents.

Jamie Spears' lawyer has sent the relevant filing to the Los Angeles court. “Nevertheless, even as Mr. Spears is the unremitting target of unjustified attacks, he does not believe that a public battle with his daughter over his continuing service as her conservator would be in her best interests,” the filing reads, in particular.

According to the submitted petition, the singer's father is ready to cooperate with the court to transfer the right to control her financial resources to a professional auditor, which was demanded by Britney Spears' new attorney, Mathew Rosengart
