The investigation of the scandalous interview with the late Princess Diana continues.
It turns out that the BBC will pay a considerable amount of money to the British royal family as compensation.
In 1995, Diana Spencer gave an interview to Martin Bashir on the BBC, and it turned out to be shocking. The Queen's bride had stated that her husband, Prince Charles, had always loved another woman. Lady Di told how difficult it was for her in the royal palace.
However, the mother of Princes Harry and William did not readily agree to be interviewed. It turns out that the journalist had put pressure on her, making her fear that she was being followed, and Prince Charles always cheated on her, including with their babysitter.
A large-scale investigation is underway on this case. Bashir pleads innocent, and claims that Diana always had sticky thoughts about being followed and her husband's infidelity.
It is now known that the BBC will have to pay compensation to the royal family. According to The Sun, the amount of this money will be $1.5 million, which also includes the percentage of income the BBC received from the sale of the rights to Diana's interview. The Windsors plan to donate that money to charity.
The royal family will soon receive that money.
Lord Dyson, who is in charge of the investigation into this scandalous interview, proved that the journalist used deceptive methods.
