Matt, the husband of Halyna Hutchins who died during the filming of Rust, commented on actor Alec Baldwin's account of what happened, TMZ reported today.
According to Hutchins, Baldwin's statements about the tragedy made him angry. Matt Hutchins, spoke to reporters and revealed when his opinion of Alec Baldwin completely changed. "Yeah. But watching him I just felt so angry," Matt said. "I was just so angry to see him talk about her death so publicly, in such a detailed way and then to not accept any responsibility after having just described killing her," Matt explained.
"The idea that the person holding the gun causing it to discharge is not responsible, is absurd to me, but gun safety was not the only problem on that set. There were a number of industry standards that were not practiced and there’s multiple responsible parties" Hutchins emphasized.
The tragedy on the set occurred on October 22. Police speculate that Baldwin fired a prop gun on set, but the blank cartridge for some reason misfired and shattered. They hit two members of the crew: Halyna Hutchins, a 42-year-old camera operator, and Joel Souza, the film's 48-year-old director.
