Niece Waidhofer, a model from the United States, committed suicide, the relatives of the girl told The Sun.

Before committing suicide, the 31-year-old model deleted almost all the photos from her Instagram. According to family members, Niece always openly told her followers about her mental health problems and helped those going through a difficult period.

“Niece was more than her struggles. She was beautiful and kind, sensitive and funny, creative and talented, generous and compassionate, thoughtful and challenging,” the family said in their statement, adding that she is now “free to be herself.”

In memory of Weidhofer, a nonprofit organization called Peace by Niece will be established to disseminate information about mental health and raise money for research into mental illness.
