22-year-old Georgian singer of Armenian descent Iru Khechanova will represent Georgia at Eurovision 2023. She will perform in the second semifinal of Eurovision on May 11. It is not yet known what song will be presented by Georgian delegate.
Khechanova was a member of the band Candy, which brought Georgia its second victory at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 in Yerevan. The singer was also the winner of the mega-show Voice.
Khechanova is from Tbilisi. Since 2007 she has been studying at art school after Gogi Dolidze. She has participated in several music competitions. In 2009, she won first place in the 2nd Tbilisi Music Olympiad, becoming the best performer.
Eurovision 2023 will take place in Liverpool from May 9 to 13.
Armenia will be represented at the contest by singer Ellen Yeremyan, known as Brunette. Her performance will also be included in the second semi-final on May 11.
