The Game of Thrones actress suffer from ‘chronic claustrophobia’ after filming of drowning scene

22:12, April 4

Actress Hannah Waddingham, who played in the cult TV series Game of Thrones, began to suffer from “chronic claustrophobia” after the filming of a drowning scene in one of the episodes.

Hannah played in the series the sister of the sept of the Faith of the Seven, Unella, who brutally tortures Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey). When Cersei regains her power, she turns the tide by imprisoning and punishing Unella.

“Game of Thrones gave me something I didn't expect, which was chronic claustrophobia,” Waddingham said on The Late Show. "It was terrible. Ten hours of water torture. Like really. I'm tied to the table with all these leather straps. I couldn’t lift my head... I had belt marks everywhere.”

Waddingham first revealed that she was actually waterboarded on the set of Thrones during a 2021 interview with Collider. The actress then said that filming this scene was the second worst day of her life after giving birth.
