A biopic will be filmed about the magnificent four Beatles, with each member of this music band given special attention. In total, it is about four biopics about Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, reports AP.
For the first time, the Beatles provided full rights to life and music for a movie project. Sony Pictures has announced a deal that could eclipse all previous music biopics.
The movies conceived by Sam Mendes are expected to be shown in cinemas in an innovative way, with the films potentially co-existing or intersecting in cinemas. Exact release plans will be announced later. Sony plans to release them in 2027.
“I’m honored to tell the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and I’m excited to challenge the very idea of what going to the movies is,” Mendes said in a statement. “We want this to be a uniquely immersive and epic cinematic experience: four films told from four different perspectives, one story about the most famous band of all time,” said producer Pippa Harris. “To have the blessing of The Beatles and Apple Corps to do this is a huge privilege.”
