Victoria Beckham has revealed the secret of her happy marriage with her husband David, during a photoshoot for ELLE Spain.

The 50-year-old singer and fashion designer, who has been married to former footballer David Beckham for 25 years, lifted the lid on her relationship in an interview after fans were given glimpses of their marriage in last year's Netflix documentary, The Beckhams.

Victoria noted that David inspires her, and spoke about the only thing that keeps her marriage alive: laughter.

“My husband inspires me. Do we look like the couple from the Netflix documentary? Yes. We love to have fun, communicate, dance, drink. And laugh at each other. This is what it takes to be happy. I believe very much in laughter, family, and friendship. I understand that we have become a model. People like to see relationships that last,” she said.

Perhaps the most memorable scene from their Netflix documentary is the one in which Victoria says she's "working class" before David interrupts her and reminds that her father drove her to school in a Rolls-Royce. This caused a strong reaction from viewers and many memes.

But speaking to ELLE, Victoria insisted she wasn't born with a "silver spoon in her mouth." “Deep down, we both share the same values. We are of the same origin. Our families worked hard to raise us. My father made money and then went bankrupt. Neither David nor I were born with a silver spoon in our mouths. We have a rule of equality, whether it is caring for the home or children,” she noted.
