The Hamshen band Meluses will give a concert in Yerevan on May 4.
«We want to delve into the lesser-explored part of the rich history of our region represented by Hamshen and the Hamshen Armenians. To open a door into the lost world of Hamshen, we begin with a musical tradition that will not only be a cultural event but also a true gift for all enthusiasts of quality folk and rock», - the organizers of the concert Move2Armenia said in a statement.
«The historic arrival of the Hamshen group Meluses in Yerevan is, above all, an opportunity to dive into one's identity in a new way.
To hear the most ancient surviving dialect, which the outstanding academic and linguist Jahukyan considered to be even older than Grabar (ancient Armenian language) is a chance that does not come every day, or even every year (!).
The group's compositions garner millions of views on well-known platforms, but perhaps the most beloved track is Garmi akhchig.
We believe that this concert will mark the beginning of acquaintanceship with the musical culture's heritage of Hamshen, Western Armenia, Anatolia.
The path to the future lies through recognizing oneself, so see you at Hard Rock!»
