Selena Gomez won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival, for her role in the Spanish movie, Emilia Perez. She shared the award with co-stars Carla Sofia Gascón, Adriana Paz, and Zoe Saldaña.
“Huge thanks to [the Cannes Film Festival] and all the management,” Gomez wrote on Instagram. Also, she shared a video of director Greta Gerwig giving a speech about the decision.
“This movie had this interaction between the sisters—who are so different, but they play off each other all the time,” Gerwig said. “It felt like everyone was shining and everyone was one. I think each of them is outstanding, but together they are excellent."
