Modern urban Yerevan looks like an anthill: hectic rush, hum of cars, and haze. And in all this “symphony” of heat, noise and dust, it is sometimes difficult to discern the beauty of the city—not the nostalgic “pink Yerevan” of the past, but the original and sometimes surreal Yerevan of the present. Photographer Levon Vardanyan—a.k.a. Lyovon—shows the Armenian capital exactly like this. However, Levon’s content is not limited to Yerevan, but some of his works dedicated to the Armenian capital make you feel like you are inside anime, noir, and arthouse movies.
