American-Armenian actor Joe Manganiello had visited Armenia the previous mounth. NEWS.am STYLE was the first to tell its readers about the actor's first visit to his homeland. During his visit Manganiello has also been to «Megeryan Carpet», where he learnt more about Armenian culture and heritage. 

"American-Armenian actor Joe Manganiello recently visited «Megeryan Carpet». During his visit, he explored the art and culture of Armenian carpet weaving, learned about the intricate process of creating carpets, and delved into the history of the museum’s collection", says the publication posted on the museum's page. 

Manganiello is known for his hit roles in Magic Mike and True Blood. About two years ago, he learned about his Armenian roots. His great-grandmother, who is Armenian from her mother's side, fled to America during the 1915 Armenian Genocide. She had a daughter, Manganiello's grandmother, who eventually moved to Worcester, Massachusetts, and married an Armenian man.

Knowing the history of his ancestors, Manganiello also got a tattoo, paying tribute to his Armenian origin, which says "Հրեշտակ"/Angel. The author of the tatoo is the famous artist Ruben Malayan.
