Lady Gaga, Celine Dion to duet iconic 'La Vie en Rose' at 2024 Olympics opening ceremony

15:22, July 26

The 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony is set to be a historic event. The ceremony will take place on the River Seine rather than in a traditional stadium.

Celine Dion is expected to perform at the event, marking her first appearance since being diagnosed with rigid personality disorder in December 2022. She will reportedly be joined by Lady Gaga.

Rumors about the two singers' participation began circulating earlier this week after Gaga and Dion were spotted in the city of love.

On Thursday, the day before millions of people will watch the international event that opens the 2024 Olympics, French journalist Thierry Moreau reported that Dion and Gaga were rehearsing a duet of "La Vie en Rose." TMZ also confirmed the news.

"La Vie en Rose," which translates as "Life in Pink," was performed by famous French singer Edith Piaf. Written in 1945 and released as a single in 1947, the song gained international recognition in the United States and around the world. It has been covered by many artists, including Andrea Bocelli, Audrey Hepburn, Bing Crosby, Carla Bruni, Dalida, Dean Martin, and Diana Krall, among others. Lady Gaga is also no stranger to performing this French ballad. She sang "La Vie en Rose" in the 2018 romantic musical A Star Is Born.
