Kate Winslet "refused to hide her belly roll" after a crew member suggested she do so during the shooting of her latest movie, Lee.

The 48-year-old Oscar winner opened up about the incident while showing off her natural beauty for a recent shoot with Harper's Bazaar.

The actress plays model-turned-World War II photographer Lee Miller in the biopic, which is adapted from the 1985 biography, The Life of Lee Miller, by Antony Penrose.

Kate revealed that during filming, a crew member suggested she sit up straighter to hide her roll. "There's a part where Lee is sitting on a bench in a bikini... And a crew member came over between takes and said, 'Maybe you should sit up straighter.'"

When shooting a sex scene for the 2021 movie Mares of Easttown, Kate wanted her character to be portrayed as a “completely imperfect woman with a body and a face that moves with her age.” “I think we’re a little starved for that,” she said of the lack of unfiltered, realistic female bodies in film and television during an interview with The New York Times. Acknowledging that her “unaglamorous” appearance on the show might surprise some viewers, Winslet said she turned down director Craig Zobel’s suggestion that she cut out “a bulging piece of my stomach.”
