Pink Floyd sells recorded music catalog and rights to Sony Music for $400 Million

16:12, October 3

British rock band Pink Floyd have sold their recorded music catalog, along with the rights to their name and image, to Sony Music for $400 million.

Sources told Variety that the legendary rock band came to an agreement after decades of infighting among the band members. According to the publication, the deal only includes the rights to the recorded music, not the songwriting rights.

Pink Floyd's music catalog is one of the most valuable in modern music, with albums including "Dark Side of the Moon," "The Wall," "Wish You Were Here," "Animals," "Meddle," "Piper at the Gates of Dawn," and "More." Pink Floyd formed in London in the mid-1960s and helped shape the British psychedelic scene before releasing influential 1970s albums such as The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall.
