Cinema Moscow was filled with Indian mood on November 14 stating the opening of the Indian Film Festival, within the framework of which 6 Bollywood movies will be shown in Yerevan, each of which has an important message and is a symbolic part of Indian culture. The festival was organized by the Embassy of India in Armenia.

“Indian films have aways been very popular in Armenia, so for us to bring Indian Film festival is both an honor and pleasure, because we know that our movies are so known here. So what we plan to do is to bring very regularly Indian Film Festivals,” says Ms. Nilakshi Saha Sinha, the Ambassador of India to Armenia. She adds that the upcoming programs include organizing film festivals dedicated to legendary Indian actors Raj Kapoor and the Mithun Chakraborty.

The Indian Film Festival in Yerevan kicked off with the screening of the film “Chak de!India” starring Shah Rukh Khan. According to the ambassador, the choice was not accidental: the film shows the willpower of Indian women and symbolizes their successes in sports.

The Indian Film Festival will last until November 17 inclusive. The entrance is free.
