London has been named the best city in the world in a new ranking of more than 270 of the world’s largest cities.

The 2025 World’s Best Cities report, compiled by marketing consultancy Resonance in collaboration with research company Ipsos, ranks cities based on their livability, attractiveness and prosperity, which together give an overall score.

The top 10 “most attractive” cities are a list of must-see cities, CNN reports.

London also tops the list for attractiveness, with its world-famous museums and nightlife. It is followed by Paris, which ranks highly for shopping and sightseeing.

New York is the third most attractive city in the world, thanks to its unique cultural offerings, including Broadway and world-class restaurants.

Tokyo is in fourth place, thanks to its restaurants and shopping, while Rome is in fifth place. Barcelona (No. 6) boasts sun, beaches, great architecture and a vibrant nightlife, while Madrid (No. 7) is heavily investing in its parks and open spaces.

Dubai, in eighth place, has firmly established itself as a playground for the world, while Berlin, in ninth place, is the clear winner for avant-garde fashion.

Finally, Singapore, in tenth place, whose appeal is based on its incredible food scene, from street stalls to fine dining, as well as its shopping and urban planning.
