Melania's followers were delighted with the colorful shot, with some even thinking it looked like a Vogue cover—though some critics thought it was heavily photoshopped.

This photo signals that Melania is ready to take on the kind of powerful White House role she so conspicuously avoided the first time around, The Daily Mail reports. Take her choice of Dolce & Gabbana, for example. While there’s nothing new about it, like her decision to opt for one of the brand’s iconic tuxedos, this new one has none of the glitzy cocktail glamour that has been a hallmark of her fashion evolution at this point, embodied by the soft hues and subtle smile of the previous photo.

Swapping out the sparkly beaded scarf artfully tied around her neck for a white cotton shirt left deliberately open at the neck, she’s also wisely eschewed any jewelry, ensuring that the viewer’s gaze—and, of course, subsequent criticism—is focused on the woman, rather than the stunning flawless diamond ring that was prominently featured in First Lady Melania Part 1.

A must-have accessory for any Upper East Side trophy wife—in this case, a 25-carat Graff purchased by Donald in 2015 as a 10th anniversary gift for $3 million—, Melania seems to be making it clear that she no longer needs that kind of one-dimensional validation.
