Four unique Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona watches have made horological history by setting a new record for a charity watch auction. Together, the timepieces sold for a staggering $49.47 million, with the entire sum going to charitable causes.

The historic sale took place in London on September 28. The auction was organized by Rolex and Phillips and conducted by renowned auctioneer Aurel Bacs. All four watches were presented as a single lot but sold individually. The event ultimately became the largest charity watch auction ever held by total proceeds.

The collection, named “Four Seasons,” features four distinct interpretations of the seasons, each combining rare stone dials, precious metals and intricate gem-setting.

The most expensive was the “Summer” model, crafted in 18-karat Everose gold. It sold for $13.66 million. The watch features a turquoise dial, ruby-centered subdials and a bezel set with pink sapphires.

The “Autumn” model, presented in an 18-karat yellow-gold case, fetched $13.53 million. Its standout features include a mookaite dial, chrysoprase subdials and green tourmalines.

Not far behind was the “Winter” version in 950 platinum, which sold for $13.26 million. The model is distinguished by a blue opal dial, lapis lazuli subdials and a sapphire-set bezel featuring a gradient that transitions from blue to fuchsia.

The fourth watch, the “Spring” model in 18-karat white gold, brought in $9.02 million. Rolex fitted it with a chrysoprase dial, lepidolite subdials and purple sapphires.

All four timepieces are entirely unique and are powered by their own Rolex Calibre 4131 movements.
